Diagnosis. The size, together with the white-banded forewing, pale hindwing
submarginal and otherwise generally striated rich brown colour to the wings,
distinguish this species.
Taxonomic notes. In genitalia and facies cnecozona resembles typical latiferaria
but is slightly larger, yellower. It is therefore brought into synonymy but
might merit subspecific status.
Geographical range. Japan, China, N.E. Himalaya, Sundaland.
Habitat preference. On G. Kinabalu the species is found from 1500m to
1930m, taken in particularly high numbers on the Pinosuk Plateau. During the
Mulu survey two specimens were taken at 1000m in lower montane forest and two at
1790m in upper montane forest on G. Mulu.
Biology. In Japan the larva feeds on Lindera (Lauraceae).
