Miscellaneous Genera II
View Image Gallery of Miscellaneous Genera II.

This sequence contains genera where the eighth abdominal segment of the male is strikingly modified, though not obviously of the framed corematous type, and other genera traditionally considered to be allied to such genera. The two focal genera of this type are Ugia Walker and Avitta Walker. Those from Bocula Guenée onwards have more individual modifications, though Batracharta Walker and Phorica Walker are a related pair. The modification of the eighth segment is weakest in the Avitta group (Avitta to Chrysopera Hampson).

Females have the ostium mostly associated with the eighth segment. When this is not the case, it is always between the eighth and seventh, never associated with the latter.
