This
short sequence of genera contains species with somewhat similar facies: straight
postmedial or submarginal fasciae that are continued from the forewing to the
hindwing. Three have modification to the costal area of the male hindwing in
some species. The male eighth segment is of the framed, corematous type (except
in Delgamma Moore), but the pupa has a bloom in the four of the
six genera where the life history is known. The position of the ostium in the
female is various: in the eighth segment in Hypospila Guenée;
in the seventh in Hamodes Guenée; in an intermediate position in the other
genera.
