Nola faircloughi sp. n.

Nola faircloughi
(holotype)

5mm. The forewing facies is similar to that of the previous species except the postmedial is distinctly angled one-third from the costa rather than irregular in course. The antemedial is more oblique, meeting the dorsum more distally. Hence the darker medial zone narrows towards the dorsum. The male genitalia have the tegumen coming to a point. The valves are similar to those of mesotherma but the harpe is much more basal, at right-angles to the ventral arm and having an irregular lobe on its basal side. On the eighth segment the tergal apodemes are acute rather than rounded, and the sternal ones are barely evident.

Holotype . BRUNEI: 5m, Labi Rd. at the Arboretum, secondary veg. 30.11.1979 (R. Fairclough), BM noctuid slide 17363.

Geographical range. Borneo.

Habitat preference. The specimen was taken in lowland secondary vegetation.
