Diagnosis.
The green forewings and pinkish red hindwings of this species render it unmistakable. It flies with a congener, C. poecilus Rothschild, in Sumatra. The latter has a paler basal half to the forewing and a paler, more broadly pink hindwing.

Taxonomic notes. Bornean material is referable to ssp. amanda.

Geographical range. N.E. Himalaya; Sundaland.

Habitat preference. The species is infrequent in lowland forest.
