Garudinistis eburneana
Walker
Tospitis
eburneana Walker, 1863, List Specimens lepid. Insects Colln Br. Mus., 28:428.
Diagnosis. See
the generic description: there are three brown bands on the forewing, rather
than two as in Garudinia.
Geographical range. Borneo,
also Sumatra, Java (van Eecke, 1930).
Habitat preference. This
appears to be a rare but ecologically versatile species. In recent surveys
singletons have been taken from: lower montane forest at 1000m on G. Mulu;
coastal forest and secondary vegetation at Seria in Brunei; on a boat within
mangrove in the Bay of Brunei; lowland dipterocarp forest at the Danum Valley
Field Centre in Sabah.
