Diagnosis.
See
Vamuna remelana Moore comb. rev. There is some sexual dimorphism, with males having browner
forewings, and yellower hindwings with more extensive black borders.
Taxonomic
note. The
Sumatran taxon maculifascia appears to
be identical to maculata.
Geographical
range. N.E.
Himalaya, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat
preference. Records
have all been from the Kinabalu area where the species is very much rarer than remelana.
