Conolophia nigripuncta

Diagnosis.
The combination of oblique postmedial and distal subdorsal black disc are on the forewing diagnostic.

Taxonomic notes. Bornean specimens are characterised by more irregular and prominent striation of the ground colour, and a stronger, darker, anteriorly more broken forewing postmedial than in those from the Asian mainland.

Geographical range. Indian Subregion, Burma, Indochina; Borneo (ssp. rudis).

Habitat preference. The species is rare, taken mainly in lower and upper montane forest zones (G. Mulu, G. Api, Bukit Retak, G. Kinabalu) but there is one specimen from Samarinda in N.E. Kalimantan.
