alaopis Prout
Dindica alaopis Prout, 1932, J. Fed. Malay States Mus. 17:
45.
Dindica alaopis Prout; Holloway, 1976: 60.
Diagnosis. The hindwing border is much narrower than in the other two Bornean Dindica,
particularly on the underside in the male where the yellow runs right up to
the black band rather than stopping short of it. The forewing discal spot is
vestigial on the underside of alaopis but strong in the other two
species.
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. This species ranges from 900m to 2600m, but is most common in upper
montane forest.
