Diagnosis. The submarginal and subdorsal darker zone of the
forewing is more diffuse than in quarlesi. The valve of the male
genitalia is apically more acute.
Taxonomic notes. Roepke indicated that Sumatran material differed from
typical Javan specimens, being smaller, brownish rather than greyish, with a
weaker pattern. He named this Sumatran form ssp. sumatrana.
Geographical range. Java; Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo.
Habitat preference. During the Mulu survey the species was frequent in
lowland forest on limestone, and present in other lowland forests and lower
montane forest.
