Altha
kerangatis Holloway
Altha kerangatis Holloway, 1982a: 183.
Diagnosis. The species is very similar to nivea but, compared with Bornean nivea,
has the forewings more heavily marked with a greyer tone. The male genitalia
were illustrated by Holloway (1982a: fig. 12), the great length and
curvature of the left arm of the juxta being diagnostic. The putative female
differs from that assigned to nivea in having the anterior and lateral
membrane to sternite 8 finely pilose.
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. The holotype male was taken in wet heath forest (kerangas)
on a river terrace near the Melinau Gorge, Sarawak, and the possible female in
hill dipterocarp forest at 300m, Ulu Temburong, Brunei.
