Diagnosis. See M. maximaria .
Taxonomic notes. This species is distinct from M. rudis Prout comb. n. (New
Guinea, Bismarcks). Typical rudis has the following differences in the
male genitalia: the uncus is elongated, the processes arising close together and
diverging; the valves have a short saccular process and a broad costal one like
the head of a hockey stick; the aedeagus lacks an apical spine.
Geographical range. Sumatra, Borneo.
