Diagnosis. This is a yellower species than the other two, including the modified
scaling on the male hindwing (cf. grey). The forewing submarginal is darkened
where it is distal to the disc. The female has a clearly defined but rather
brownish grey border to the hindwing, and to both wings on the underside. Such
borders are more diffuse in the other two species.
Geographical range. New Guinea; Sulawesi, Borneo, Peninsular Malaysia (ssp.
brychoma).
Habitat preference. During the Mulu survey the species was taken with
moderate frequency in both lower and upper montane zones on G. Mulu
(1000m-1790m). It was less frequent on G. Kinabalu at 1200-1500m. A singleton
was taken at 1618m on Bukit Retak.
