Bosara
festivata Warren comb. n.
Gullaca festivata Warren, 1903, Novit. zool., 10: 266.
Diagnosis. The wings are a pale orange-brown, only slightly fasciated except in a
darker brown zone just basal to the anterior part of the forewing postmedial and
in a small subapical patch on the costa.
Taxonomic notes. The single Bornean female matches well one from Bali in genitalia, but a
Bali male has somewhat different genitalia from the holotype from Sulawesi: in
the former the valve is slightly broader, shorter, with the base of the sacculus
less lobed and the angular process on the ventral margin slightly more distally
placed. A female from Seram has the ductus slightly shorter and the sclerotised,
basal appendix bursae and the bursa itself broader.
Geographical range. Sulawesi, Seram (slide 12657); Bali, Borneo.
Habitat preference. The only specimen was taken at 1200m near Bundu Tuhan
on the slopes of G. Kinabalu in an area with both forest remnants and
cultivation.
