Ziridava xylinaria subaequata Prout,

Diagnosis.
This and the
next species are very similar, but kanshireiensis Prout has a pinkish
ground colour rather than straw colour, and a broader dark area distal to the
discal spot: the general appearance is thus darker, pinker, less variegated. The
ornamentation of the aedeagus vesica is very different in the two species.
Geographical
range. Borneo,
Sumatra; Sulawesi (ssp. subrubida); Moluccas (ssp. subaequata); New
Guinea, Queensland (ssp. leptomita); Vanuatu and New Caledonia.
Habitat
preference. In
recent surveys two specimens have been taken at 1465m on Bukit Retak and another
in alluvial forest at 100m just west of the Melinau Gorge, Sarawak. Older
material also is from lowland localities.
