Diagnosis. This is a smaller species than the next, with much more regular
fasciation. The forewing postmedial band is distinct, dark, highlighted by a
narrowly paler line distal. The next species lacks this contrast between dark
grey and a paler line, but has the medial zone and much of the hindwing more
variegated, with fine, wavy, dark grey fasciae.
Geographical range. Sundaland, Sulawesi, Seram, New Guinea.
Habitat preference. Records range from 900m to 1930m, the species being
most frequent in the upper montane zone.
