Scopula melinau sp. n.

Scopula melinau (holotype)
(x 1.16)

11mm. The wings have a more greyish tone than species typical of this facies type such as S. nesciaria Walker and S. attentata Walker (both Indian), resembling more S. wegneri Prout (Java), but the fasciae are more crisply defined. The genitalia are similar to those of wegneri, but the sclerotised arms of the valves are narrower, more acute. In the abdomen, the pouch between the tympanic bullae is smaller and the cerata of the eighth sternite are of equal development, the left more strongly curved apically (absent in wegneri). The socii are long as in leucopis and quadratisparsa.
