Diagnosis. This is the smallest Bornean species, the forewing marked with dark
brown on bone-white, with the discal spot prominent, oblique as in Episteira species.
The male hindwing margin is not lobed. The forewing postmedial is diagnostically
angled at one third from the costa.
Geographical range. Indian Subregion (ssp. postalba); Java,
Borneo, Sulawesi (ssp. eupitheciata); New Guinea (ssp. viridata); Vulcan
I. (ssp. isocraspeda).
Habitat preference. No material has been taken in recent surveys: the
only Bornean specimen was collected by Waterstradt on G. Kinabalu, but no
altitude is given.
Biology. Indian specimens in BMNH are labelled as reared from Loranthus (Loranthaceae)
foliage.
