Sauris inscissoides sp. n.
Sauris inscissoides

12mm. The facies is of the type of the next three species, but perhaps
closest to that of S. inscissa Prout. There is a dense zone of brown-grey
fasciation from the medial to postmedial area that is somewhat sinuous,
enclosing a small patch of pale ground colour at the costa medially as in S.
quassa Prout, but the general colour is browner, with a more distinct contrast
between the dark brown fasciae and the paler ones on either side. The fasciae
are more finely defined and separated than in inscissa. The male
genitalia resemble those of S. usta Warren in having the valve apex only
weakly modified (strongly broadened and setose in quassa; slightly
produced beyond the costal process and setose in inscissa), but it is
more quadrate, with the costal process very much weaker.
