Sauris
coalita Prout
Sauris coalita Prout, 1931, Novit. zool., 37: 28.
Diagnosis. The facies is generally similar to that of the previous few species but
the fasciation is much heavier, almost black with a slight bluish tinge. A
particular feature is the way the slightly broader pair of pale fasciae in the
postmedial area are flexed towards the tornus, becoming distinctly paler at that
point. The hindwings and abdomen are medium to dark grey.
Geographical range. Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo.
Habitat preference. The single Bornean specimen seen (in USNM) is from
1560m in the Park Headquarters area of G. Kinabalu.
