Diagnosis. Both sexes are grey, the forewings distinctively marked with tightly
parallel antemedial and postmedial sequences of fine brownish fasciae either
side of a narrow, clear medial zone that contains the small discal dot. Females
are a considerably darker grey than the males.
Taxonomic notes. X. mesilauensis is most closely related to X. dissociata Warren
from the mountains of Luzon.
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. The majority of specimens were taken in majestic
montane forest at 1500m on the Mesilau Plateau of G. Kinabalu. One was taken
also at Kamborangah (2110m).
