Diagnosis. This is a dark brown species with fasciation more or less equally
developed on fore- and hindwings as in Scotocyma Turner, but the
fasciation is more evenly developed, strongest at the postmedial and the
underside is uniform rather than variegated. The submarginal white spots on the
upperside are even in size.
Geographical range. N.E. Himalaya; Borneo; (ssp robinsoni); Java,
Bali (ssp. inimica); Sumbawa (ssp. tamborica).
Habitat preference. Most material seen is from G. Kinabalu, without
altitude data. A female was taken by Dr Chey Vun Khen in secondary forest at
Brumas in the lowlands of Sabah.
