Eurychoria
trajecta Prout stat. n.
Eurychoria perata trajecta
Prout, 1932, J. fed. Malay States Mus., 17: 94.
Eurychoria perata trajecta
Prout; Holloway, 1976: 75.
Diagnosis. This species could be confused with Platycerota balia (See
Platycerota balia).
It is best distinguished by the yellowish tinge to the underside.
Taxonomic notes. Originally described as a subspecies of perata Prout, this
species has male genitalia that indicate it is best treated as a distinct
species. There is a scobinate basal process on the valve costa that is lacking
in perata. The furca consists of a pair of broad, sickle-like processes,
whereas in perata two long, slender, straight processes flank a much
shorter central pair.
Geographical range. Borneo, Peninsular Malaysia.
Habitat preference. The only Bornean records are from G. Kinabalu. It is
infrequent in upper montane forest (1500-1930m).
