Borbacha
pardaria Guenée
Anisodes pardaria Guenée, 1857, Hist. nat. Ins. Spec. Gen.
Lep. 9: 420.
Diagnosis. This and the next species are very similar, but altipardaria is
larger, the grey fasciae on average broader and more entire. The cornutus of the
aedeagus vesica is twice as long in altipardaria, straight rather than
curved and set more distally than in pardaria. The pardaria specimen
illustrated has unusually broad fasciae: the vesica character is reliable,
however.
Geographical range. N.E. Himalaya, Sundaland, Sulawesi.
Habitat preference. The only specimen taken in recent surveys was from
lowland alluvial forest in the G. Mulu National Park.
