Diagnosis. Both this and the next species have rich brown markings on an ochreous
fawn ground, the fine forewing postmedial having a strong subcostal loop. C.
maculata is darker, more strongly fasciated and variegated, with, in the
male a diagnostic dark brown zone just posterior to the forewing postmedial
loop. The female of maculata has the postmedial to submarginal zones of
both wings a rich dark brown. There are no apparent differences in the male
genitalia.
Geographical range. Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat preference. During the Mulu survey this species was taken
infrequently in all lowland forest types, with a slight preference for hill
dipterocarp forest on G. Mulu and kerangas. Only one specimen was taken in lower
montane forest (1000m).
