Cleora
biclavata Fletcher
Carecomotis biclavata Fletcher,
1953: 115.
Cleora biclavata Fletcher; Holloway, 1976: 82.
Diagnosis. C. biclavata, C. propulsaria Walker, C. contiguata Moore and C. cucullata Fletcher all
have dull brown markings on a white ground, and are progressively more heavily
marked in the sequence just given. In the first two the intensity of markings
within the broad hindwing border is even and in propulsaria they are much
more regular and even. In contiguata and cucullata the markings
are more intense or more suffused brown over the posterior two thirds.
Dissection of male genitalia is recommended for certain identification.
Geographical
range. Burma,
Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat
preference. Some
association with disturbed habitats seems likely, but only three specimens have
been taken in recent surveys: at Tuaran in lowland Sabah, in a cultivated area
at 1200m on the slopes of G. Kinabalu and at 300m on G. Santubong in Sarawak.
