Pseudalcis
cinerascens Warren
Pseudalcis cinerascens Warren,
1897, Novit. zool., 4: 97.
Diagnosis. See the previous species. Some paler specimens may resemble P. albata
Warren, but are distinguished by male genitalic features: in albata the
juxta bifurcations are longer, more tapering, acute; the interior setose lobe on
the valve is more shallowly curved, the setae less dense.
Taxonomic notes. The Sumatran and Javan P. albata shares a number of unusual
genitalic features with cinerascens as discussed in the generic
description.
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. The habitat and distribution resembles that of
catoriata. Both species were originally described from Pulo Laut in S.
Kalimantan.
