Diagnosis. The uniform darkish brown wings distinguish this species from congeners.
The hindwing discal spot is the most prominent marking. The veins distal to the
discal spot on the forewing underside are picked out darker as in H.
sommereri.
Geographical range. N.E. Himalaya, Thailand, Sundaland.
Habitat preference. Records during the Mulu survey were mostly from
lowland forest types, with a few in lower montane forest. On G. Kinabalu the
species has been recorded from as high as 1620m.
