Diagnosis. This is the largest species, the wings a uniform warm grey (finely
darker striations on a pale ground) with dark brown fasciation and discal marks.
Taxonomic notes. Dr D. Stüning is currently investigating this species and is likely to
extend the synonymy.
Geographical range. N.E. Himalaya to Taiwan, Sumatra and Borneo.
Habitat preference. The species ranges from 500m to 1620m, but is
frequent only in the lower montane zone around 1000m.
