Diagnosis. The insect is mainly dark reddish brown, but with the white ground
colour of the wings evident in a pale basal zone to the hindwings extending to
just distal to the postmedial where it is at its clearest, and in patches at the
centre of the distal margin of each wing.
Geographical range. Himalaya, western and southern China, Taiwan, Borneo.
Habitat preference. The species is infrequent in upper montane forest,
ranging from 1000-2000m.
