Boarmacaria herbuloti sp. n.

Boarmacaria herbuloti
(paratype, in colln Herbulot)

Boarmacaria herbuloti
(paratype)

10-12mm, 12-13mm. This species is similar in facies to its congener but lacks the fine white line to the forewing. The dark medial bar to the forewing is more conspicuous, particularly in the female. The black submarginal band over the anterior half of the hindwing is set further from the margin, and that on the forewing incorporates a white spot. There are major genitalic differences, as indicated in the generic description. The costal ornamentation has a long, weakly sclerotised, straight digitate process and a shorter, strongly sclerotised, rather crooked, apically spined process directed towards the rather slender, long, tongue-like apical part of the valve. The saccular process is long, slender, evenly curved. In the female genitalia the membrane between segments 7 and 8 is thickened, rather corrugate. The ductus is short, the neck of the bursa twice as wide, squarish, sclerotised, and the distal part ovate with a long, tranverse, gently arcuate, flange-like signum, similar to that seen in the Myrioblephara group.
