Diagnosis. This and the next species are distinguished primarily on size, apona at
18mm from thorax to forewing apex and altapona at around 27mm. The valve
is broader apically in altapona, the process from the ventral margin of
the valve reduced, and the apex of the gnathus squared.
Geographical range. Borneo, Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia (Barlow
collection).
Habitat preference. The species is only known in Borneo from G. Kinabalu.
It is rare at around 1620m.
