Diagnosis. The facies is distinctive, as described in the generic account.
Taxonomic notes. A series of taxa spans the Indo-Australian tropics: C. cyanosticta Hampson
comb. n. (S. India); C. lamprosticta; C. formosa Debauche comb. n. (Sulawesi,
Seram); C. triangulifera Warren comb. n. (Sumba); C.
plenimargo Warren comb. n. (New Guinea). They are all very similar in facies
(with the exception of the rather uniformly pale brown triangulifera) and
male genitalia. There is therefore a case for considering them all races of one
widespread species, for which lamprosticta would be the oldest name.
Geographical range. N.E. Himalaya, Burma, Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat preference. The two Bornean specimens seen were from lower
montane forest on G. Mulu (1000m) and from 1500m near Tambunan, G. Kinabalu (in
USNM).
