Diagnosis. This species and the probable sister-species H. insulata Warren
have a paler furca ground colour less heavily irrorated red or brown than in
other species. H. insulata has the forewing submarginal more strongly
angled at M2; the antemedial is diagnostically acutely angled and the medial
more oblique with a lunulate thickening at the disc.
Geographical range. Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo, Sumatra.
Habitat preference. This species occurs in a range of lowland forest
types particularly alluvial forest and has been taken singly in lower montane
forest and 900m on the limestone G. Api.
