Peratophyga venetia Swinhoe,

Diagnosis. The wings are equally divided into a distal dull greyish brown border,
and a basal fawn hyaline zone, irregularly irrorated with brown.
Geographical range. Sundaland, Philippines, Sulawesi.
Habitat preference. The species is mostly found in lowland forest,
including heath forest types, but has been taken also less frequently in lower
montane forest up to 1200m.
Biology. The moth has been recorded as visiting the dung-ridden dirt in the abode
of domesticated mammals (Bänziger, 1983).
