Peratophyga beta sp. n.

Peratophyga beta (holotype)

14mm. The bands on both wings are narrower, more rufous than in the majority of trigonata specimens, with a double convexity on the outer margin of each such that the one on the right forewing resembles the Greek letter ‘beta’. The male genitalia are diagnostic: the spining on the dorsal margin of the lower portion of the right valve extends well down towards the base rather than being restricted to the apex, and the anterior margin on the left has a distinct step at one third. The cornutus is somewhat larger and narrower than in the other species, the secondary spines smaller, more even.
