Corymica
latimarginata Swinhoe
Corymica latimarginata Swinhoe,
1902, Ann. Mag. nat. Hist. (7) 10: 47.
Corymica latimarginata Swinhoe;
Holloway, 1976: 75.
Diagnosis. This and the next species differ from Bornean congeners in having red
margins strongly marked on the upperside. In latimarginata the margin is
continuous on both wings, internally excavate centrally on the forewing. In pardalota
the red is restricted to the anterior half of the forewing, and the species
is very much smaller.
Geographical range. Sundaland.
Habitat preference. The species is uncommon, with most specimens taken in
lowland forest. The exception is a male from 1620m on G. Kinabalu.
