Hypochrosis
waterstradti Holloway
Hypochrosis waterstradti Holloway,
1976: 76.
Diagnosis. The species is like a pale brown to bone-coloured version of H.
pyrrhophaeata, the irregular medial band and a semicircular marginal area on
the forewing being darker brown. Females tend to be more uniform brown, though
this sexual dimorphism is not as extreme as in the next species.
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. H. waterstradti is infrequent in forested habitats up to 1930m
on G. Kinabalu. During the Mulu survey it was common in hill dipterocarp forest
on the lower slopes of G. Mulu, and in dipterocarp forest at 250m on the
limestone G. Api.
