Plutodes evaginata sp. n

Plutodes evaginata
(paratype)

, 13-15mm. The shape of the patches in the wings is as in cyclaria but these are darker, browner as in malaysiana and argentilauta. The male genitalia resemble those of the other three species, distinguishing features being in the aedeagus vesica. Cornuti are large as in cyclaria but there is a small bulbous lateral lobe that is also lined with cornuti along one side. The female has a diagnostic triangular sheath-like evagination on the bursa that may receive this lobe on the aedeagus. The bursa is sclerotised over the basal half, with a few small, irregular fields of spines within this sclerotised zone.
