Stalagmia Guenée
Type species: guttaria Gray.
This genus is also monotypic, with strikingly different wing markings to
those of the rest of the tribe: a series of rounded, dark grey patches on a
white ground reminiscent of some Abraxas species (though the thorax and
abdomen are immaculate). A few grey transverse striae occur on the forewing
costa. The wing margins are much more rounded than in other genera though there
is a hint of an angle at vein M3 on the hindwing. The male genitalia are typical
of the tribe, with no striking modifications. In the female the signum is small,
set basally in the bursa, more heavily sclerotised and more distinctly spined
than in other genera.
