Diagnosis.
The species
is sexually dimorphic, the male very dark brown with only faint indications of
the reticulate forewing pattern. The female has extensive areas of the medial
and tornal zone a paler brown. The postmedial is angled centrally, with a broad
submarginal dark triangle adjacent to it anteriorly. This triangle is divided by
a single pale line. The dark zone between the stigmata is also triangular,
almost equilateral.
Taxonomic
notes. The
species is a typical Iambia in facies and genitalic features.
Geographical
range. Peninsular
Malaysia, Borneo, Sulawesi.
Habitat
preference. The
species is rare but has been recorded in lowland, lower montane and upper
montane forest types up to as high as 1618m.
