Eulepa
gilvithorax Prout comb. n.
Perigea gilvithorax Prout, 1928, Bull. Hill Mus. Witley, 2:
70.
Platysenta gilvithorax Prout; Holloway, 1976: 14.
Diagnosis.
The forewings are dark brown, with white markings as in typical Eulepa
though the central spot of the four is enlarged, displaced slightly
basally, and the other three are reduced, the posterior one sometimes
absent.
Taxonomic
notes. The forewing facies and male genitalia show all the diagnostic
features of Eulepa so the species is transferred to that genus.
Geographical
range. Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat
preference. Bornean material is restricted to two males taken at 1620m
and 1660m on G. Kinabalu.
