Diagnosis.
This species resembles Phlogophora taxa but is easily distinguished by
the 'Y' shaped pale mark in the forewing medial zone. The hindwings are pale
yellowish white with a brown discal spot and fine postmedial band.
Taxonomic notes.
This species was indicated as belonging to Euplexidia by Yoshimoto (1987
b) but not formally transferred by him. It has the generic features of
forewing facies and male genitalia. The costal process of the valve is broad,
densely setose; there is an apical spur as in the Sumatran E. benescripta
Prout. The uncus is larger than in congeners, strongly curved over the basal
third.
Geographical
range. Borneo.
Habitat
preference. The species is abundant from 1760m to 2600m on G. Kinabalu and was
taken infrequently at 1780m and above (upper montane forest) on G. Mulu.
