Elusa
cyathicornis Walker
Seria cyathicornis Walker, 1862, J. Linn. Soc. Lond. (Zool), 6:194.
Diagnosis. The
species has nodular male antennae and resembles a small ceneusalis, though
lacking the straight, pale submarginal of that species. The male abdomen has
the eighth segment weakly corematous and sclerotised as in penanorum. The
uncus is diagnostically bifid, cruciform, the valves ovate, only weakly
corematous, with a simple, curved harpe.
Geographical
range. Borneo.
Habitat
preference. Apart
from the holotype (Sarawak), only one other specimen has been seen, a male from
Poring Hot Springs, an area of disturbed forest and secondary growth at about
600m at the foot of G. Kinabalu.
