Diagnosis. The male is like one of the cristatrix complex but with the pale
marks of the forewing more obscure, the intervening dark zones on the dorsum
picked out with paler greenish brown, somewhat obscuring the basal pale zone.
There is marked sexual dimorphism and the female has a purplish grey forewing
with a pale patch basally and a pale green band submarginally. In the male
genitalia the ventral process of the valve is diagnostically very long and
slender, and in the female the basal part of the bursa is expanded symmetrically
as illustrated.
Geographical range. Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat preference. The species has been taken frequently in lowland
dipterocarp forest at Ulu Temburong, Brunei; the only other specimens taken in
recent surveys have been singletons from 1200m (Bundu Tuhan) on G. Kinabalu and
from 1700m on Bukit Pagon, Brunei.
