Diagnosis. Potential confusion with Aplotelia nubilosa was dealt with under
that species. A dark brown streak runs from the most distal curvature of the
postmedial to the marginal angle of the forewing.
Taxonomic note. W.W. Brandt, in a manuscript note in the BMNH based on examination of
type material (Wiesbaden Mus.), has suggested that Anophia arnoldi Pagenstecher
is a synonym of suffundens.
Geographical range. Throughout the Indo-Australian tropics to Queensland
and Vanuatu.
Habitat preference. Only three specimens have been taken in recent
surveys, one in hill dipterocarp forest at 500m on G. Mulu, Sarawak, one in
similar vegetation at 300m, Ulu Temburong, Brunei, and one in dry heath forest
at Telisai, Brunei.
