Diagnosis. The species has dark purplish brown forewings with faint whitish
markings, usually a submarginal row of dots, the subapical one most intense, and
a subdorsal patch at one third (not always present).
Geographical range. India, Burma, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo,
Sulawesi, New Guinea, Bismarcks.
Habitat preference. A single specimen was taken in upper montane forest
on G. Mulu during the Mulu survey, but other Bornean material in the BMNH is
from lowland localities.
