Diagnosis. This is a medium sized robust species with rather narrow forewings
that are pale brown with a darker tornal shade and a series of dark brown apical
flecks.
Taxonomic notes. The characteristics of the male genitalia relative to those of the next
three species are discussed in the generic introduction. In the female genitalia
the post-ostial invagination is small relative to that of L. punctapex and
allies.
The Philippines (Luzon) species L. melanosticta Wileman &
West comb. n. could be related but is represented by only the holotype .
Geographical range. N.E. Himalaya, Borneo.
Habitat preference. Bornean material is restricted to five specimens from
1200m on G. Kinabalu. The habitat contained some undisturbed rainforest but also
open vegetable terraces.
