Diagnosis. This species resembles females of the next in forewing marking but is
much larger with the forewing ground colour a warm grey rather than fawn. Gyrtona
eusema Prout is also somewhat similar but has narrower forewings with the
basal and subapical costal areas not so conspicuously dark.
Geographical range. N.E. Himalaya, Taiwan, Borneo.
Habitat preference. The only two Bornean examples were taken just above
1600m on G. Kinabalu at the lower edge of a zone of tall upper montane forest.
