Diagnosis.
The striking black and white facies is unmistakable, particularly the
distribution of these two shades on the hindwings.
Geographical
range. Burma,
Sundaland to New Guinea.
Habitat
preference. The species is frequent from the lowlands to about 2000m in
both forested and disturbed habitats, being commoner in the latter on G.
Kinabalu (Holloway, 1976). Chey (1994) recorded the species from lowland
softwood plantations, particularly those with Acacia mangium and
Paraserianthes
falcataria.
